#4020 - 56-50 Spencer (Taylor's) Brass (Large Rifle primer)

The 56-50 Spencer (Taylor's) was built to C.I.P. specifications for operation in the Taylor Arms 56-50 Spencer. Rim diameter is .629" to .632", which may be too small to eject properly in some originals. Rim thickness is .057" to .061". Thickness of wall at mouth is .0125" average. Case mouth may need to be annealed if not sealing properly with low pressure loads. Maximum bullet seating depth is .375".

The brass is excellent for both life firing as well as reenacting. I have 100 cases for reenacting as well as100 for real shooting and have never had a failier in either situation. I have a question for you at Starline. I would like more brass but your page says 250 and my banker says 50. Any possibilities of selling smaller lots? My best and thank, P- peterinfelise27@gmail.com

I use this brass in both original and taylor arms 56-50 Spencers. Making new extractor springs from jig saw blades helps extract the shells from originals. Using both black powder and 2400 smokeless loads these cases perform superbly. These can be used also in 56-56 Spencers from the Civil War but do need to be aneiled and fire formed to the chambers. This also takes special dies for the 56-56 round being a .534 bullet instead of the .515 of the 56-50.
